As the early onset of summer sweeps across the country, air conditioner and ice cream manufacturers are witnessing a remarkable surge in sales. With temperatures climbing steadily, the demand for cooling solutions and refreshing treats has skyrocketed, marking a strong start to the season.
The air conditioning industry is projected to close March with an impressive 30% growth in sales compared to the same period last year. Companies like Blue Star and Godrej Appliances have reported unprecedented demand, with dealers stocking up on products earlier than usual. Godrej Appliances is targeting a 50-70% growth in AC sales this summer, while Blue Star anticipates a 25-30% increase over last year's high base.
Meanwhile, ice cream makers are also enjoying a sweet start to the season. Brands like Mother Dairy and Havmor Ice Cream have reported double-digit growth in March, driven by early summer demand and expanded distribution efforts. Mother Dairy's ice cream portfolio alone has seen a growth of over 30% compared to March last year, with the company targeting revenues of ₹650-700 crore in FY26. Havmor Ice Cream attributes its success to strategic product launches and increased presence in quick commerce channels.
The combination of favorable weather conditions, innovative marketing strategies, and expanded distribution networks has set the stage for a promising summer season for both industries.
