Court Orders Seizure of M.F. Husain's 'Offensive' Paintings, Sparking Art Censorship Debate

A Delhi court has issued an order to seize the two paintings by celebrated painter M.F. Husain that were branded "offensive" by depicting Hindu gods. Judicial Magistrate Sahil Monga made the order after advocate Amita Sachdeva brought a complaint against the artworks for offending religious sentiments. The court directs the investigating officer to seize the paintings and get back by 22 January, 2025. This adds another controversy in the legacy of Husain who has always left conservative groups upset with his art.
