Crompton Greaves Clinches ₹101 Crore Solar Pump Order, Secures Five-Year Maintenance Deal

Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd (Crompton) has landed a major ₹101 crore contract from the Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA) for the supply and installation of 4,500 off-grid solar photovoltaic water pumping systems across Maharashtra. This project, part of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s (MNRE) PM-KUSUM scheme (Component B), also includes a comprehensive five-year maintenance contract, reinforcing Crompton’s commitment to long-term service and reliability for rural and agricultural communities.

Project Scope: Crompton will design, manufacture, supply, transport, install, test, and commission the solar water pumps, with the entire project slated for completion within 90 days of the work order. The five-year maintenance contract ensures ongoing support and operational efficiency for end users.

Financial Performance: Crompton reported a 22.5% year-on-year jump in Q4 FY25 net profit to ₹169.5 crore, with revenue from operations rising 5.1% to ₹2,060.6 crore. The Electrical Consumer Durables (ECD) segment, driven by pumps and appliances, posted 11% annual revenue growth, buoyed by the execution of solar pump orders.

 

Growth Ambitions: Crompton aims to double its business in five years, leveraging investments in innovation, premium product lines, and sustainability initiatives. The company’s platform-first approach, with in-house BLDC and induction technologies, is set to drive future expansion.
