Dating’s New Chapter: India’s Women Turn Toward Stability and Soul

The study, titled The Commitment Decade, surveyed over 3,400 urban singles across India. Findings show that women are increasingly rejecting “situationships” and casual encounters in favour of stability, respect, and meaningful bonds. Interestingly, 67% of Gen Z women said they would end a relationship if their partner ignored mental health concerns, highlighting how emotional maturity is now a key “green flag.” Men too are shifting, with nearly 80% expressing preference for commitment. Analysts note that this trend reflects broader societal changes, where clarity and equality are valued over ambiguity in relationships.
