Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Renames Key Metro Stations in Pitampura-Haiderpur for Local Identity Boost

In a significant move to enhance commuter convenience and celebrate local heritage, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced the renaming of three major metro stations in the Pitampura-Haiderpur region. Speaking at a ceremony in Haiderpur village during the Raj Kalash Yatra, the CM emphasized that these changes will better reflect the neighborhoods' identities and provide clarity for passengers.

The renamed stations are:

Pitampura Metro Station is now Madhuban Chowk Metro Station, reflecting its association with the Madhuban locality.

The proposed North Pitampura station in QU Block will officially be called North Pitampura-Prashant Vihar Metro Station to signify the region it serves.

The proposed Pitampura North Metro Station will be called Haiderpur Village Metro Station to honor the local community.

Rekha Gupta highlighted how these renamings coincide with developmental initiatives like widening Max Hospital Road and constructing an underpass for smoother and safer travel. She expressed pride in Haiderpur village emerging as a symbol of modern Delhi coexisting with rich traditions. These changes are set to appear on metro maps, at stations, and in announcements for effective communication.
