Dia Mirza Marks 5 Years Of Her ‘Miracle Child’ Avyaan With Heartfelt Tribute

On May 14, actor and environmental advocate Dia Mirza marked a deeply personal milestone as her son, Avyaan, turned five. Sharing a series of then-and-now pictures on social media, she reflected on his difficult start to life and the strength he showed as a premature baby in the neonatal ICU.

Dia posted a carousel of images of Avyaan, from fragile NICU moments to smiling, sun-kissed recent pictures. In her caption, she called him their “miracle child” and “warrior light,” writing that he was “born free” and wishing that he would always live free, laugh loudly, love deeply and dream wildly.

She added that he had “changed the meaning of hope forever” for their family and that they love him “beyond words,” echoing earlier years when she thanked him for “choosing” them as parents.

Avyaan was born prematurely on 14 May 2021 and spent weeks in the neonatal ICU, undergoing critical medical care and surgeries before he could come home, an ordeal Dia has spoken about in previous birthday posts.

By his first and second birthdays, she shared that he was catching up on milestones, playful and loving, and that his first spoken word was “tiger,” a detail that continues to symbolise his fighting spirit in her writings.
