Diljit Dosanjh Takes a Stand: 'Punjab '95' Faces CBFC Hurdle, Star Refuses to Support Censored Version

Diljit Dosanjh has firmly stated he will not support his upcoming film "Punjab '95" if the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) demands cuts. The controversial film, directed by Honey Trehan, has been embroiled in a year-long battle with the CBFC, which initially suggested 120 cuts. Dosanjh, in a recent Instagram Live, emphasized he would only back the film if released uncut, saying any censorship would "defeat the purpose of the film's message." Trehan echoed this sentiment, vowing to remove his name as director if cuts are made. The film, based on Sikh human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, awaits resolution for its Indian release.
