Edge of Glory: Samsung Polishes the Future with Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2

Samsung has officially declared that its newly launched Galaxy S25 Edge would be the world's first smartphone to include Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, a new benchmark for strength and appearance in mobile phones. This revolutionary glass technology introduces crystals into its matrix, greatly enhancing crack resistance and overall strength while maintaining optical clarity. The collaboration of Samsung and Corning was necessitated by the need to produce a display cover that's quite thin yet incredibly reliable, fortifying the S25 Edge as the thinnest Galaxy S series smartphone up to this time.

 

“With Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, we’ve achieved a remarkable combination of thinness and strength, giving consumers the best of both worlds,” said Andrew Beck, VP at Corning Gorilla Glass. The Galaxy S25 Edge will be unveiled during a global livestream on May 13.
