Market Status On Bakri Id

On May 28, 2026, both the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) will be closed across equity, equity derivatives and securities lending and borrowing (SLB) segments. There will be no regular intraday trading, block deals or closing auction on Thursday.

What Happens In Other Segments

Commodity traders should note that the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will follow a partial closure, with the morning session shut and trading allowed only in the evening session. Currency derivatives and electronic gold receipts (EGR) on NSE will follow the equity holiday schedule and remain closed on May 28.

When Trading Resumes And Next Holiday

Normal market hours will resume on Friday, May 29, 2026, with pre open from 9:00 am and continuous trading till 3:30 pm. The next scheduled stock market holiday after Bakri Id is on Friday, June 26, 2026, for Muharram, giving markets another long weekend later next month.
