At the Global Center on Adaptation's (GCA) inaugural Ambassadors' Forum in Rotterdam, fifty governments reaffirmed their commitment to accelerate economic resilience through climate adaptation. The high-level forum emphasized the urgent need to scale adaptation and mobilize public and private finance to future-proof economies as climate risk mounts. Leaders emphasized adaptation as a progress accelerator for sustainable growth, innovation, and job creation, and not just a reactive measure. New investment platforms and partnerships were also launched at the forum, including a $1 billion private sector commitment to climate resilience in Africa, which will mobilize $5 billion over the course of the next year.
