Firefly Aerospace's Blue Ghost Historic Moon Landing Marks New Frontier in Commercial Lunar Exploration

Firefly Aerospace has marked a monumental achievement in space exploration, where it successfully soft-landed its Blue Ghost lunar lander on the surface of the Moon. The feat makes Firefly Aerospace the second private entity to soft-land on the lunar surface, after Intuitive Machines made the recent accomplishment.

Blue Ghost touched down within the Mare Crisium basin on the near side of the Moon

The mission delivered multiple NASA payloads under the CLPS program

This achievement represents a major milestone in NASA's Artemis lunar exploration program

The lander carries instruments to examine the geology and resources of the Moon

The Blue Ghost lander should function for a period of up to 14 Earth days, performing a series of scientific experiments and technological demonstrations.
