From Vitara to Vit-aura: Maruti's 7-Seater Steals the Spotlight

Having been disclosed to be coded as Y17, the undergoing Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara 7-seater SUV is being tested near the company's Kharkhoda plant in Haryana. Expected to hit the market in late 2025, this extended version of the Grand Vitara will have a bigger rear overhang, redesigned taillamps, and a new dashboard that will come with a large touchscreen infotainment system. Like the 5-seat version, the SUV is expected to sport the 1.5-liter petrol and hybrid powertrains. The 7-seater Grand Vitara will target the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, and Mahindra XUV700, allowing Maruti to consolidate in the growing three-row SUV segment.
