Goa Tourism Booms with 21% Growth in 2024, Dispelling Decline Rumors

Goa's tourism sector posted a gallant 21% growth right in 2024, with over a crore tourists streaming into the coastal state. The tourism department released data indicating a substantial rise in both domestic and international arrivals, nullifying social media assertions about a recession in the sector. The number of domestic tourists increased by 22% while that of foreign tourists went up by 3%. The October to December period saw particularly tremendous growth of 38%; alone, in December 2024, numbers surged by 54% compared to the previous year. Tourism officials attribute this trend to a variety of factors that include, but are not limited to, infrastructure improvement and targeted marketing.
