Goal Machine Reactivated: Chhetri Emerges from Retirement to Lead India

In a sudden turn of events, 40-year-old Sunil Chhetri has come out of retirement to provide India with an advantage in the upcoming football matches. The team is aiming to record clean sheet victories over Maldives in a friendly on March 19 and Bangladesh in the 2027 AFC Asian Cup qualifier on March 25. Both fixtures will be staged at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong, the city's inaugural international football fixtures. Head coach Manolo Marquez emphasized goal-scorers, citing Chhetri's bountiful form in the ISL. Defender Sandesh Jhingan was optimistic regarding the training and objectives of the team for the games.
