God, Grit, and Glory: Trump’s Rallying Cry in Congress

President Donald Trump gave a long speech to a joint session of Congress, returning to power. Trump, in his address, stated "America is back," pointing to his administration's accomplishments in only 43 days. Trump boasted economic reform, border security initiatives, and contentious policy reversals. Trump complimented Elon Musk's government efficiency task force and chastised the former administration's policies. The president was interrupted by Democratic lawmakers, one of whom was removed from the chamber. Trump also declared retaliatory tariffs on other nations, including India, from April 2. The more than 100-minute speech ended with Republicans shouting "Fight!" as Democrats quickly left.
