Google Expands Global Footprint: First Retail Stores Outside the US Set for India

India is set to see Google making a grand entrance into retail with its first physical stores outside the Unites States. Sources suggest Google is nearing the final stages of chalking out retail locations in New Delhi and Mumbai with stores expected to be about 15,000 square feet. These stores will showcase and sell Google's hardware products including Pixel phones, smartwatches, and earbuds. It, evidently, aspires to compete directly with Apple in a premium segment where Google has only 2% market share and Apple dominates with over 55%. The stores could open within the next six months, hinting at Google's commitment to strengthening its position in one of its key growth markets.
