Government Launches Massive Driver Training Initiative: 1,600 Centers to Combat Road Accidents

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has unveiled an ambitious plan to establish 1,600 Driving Training Centers (DTCs) across India to reduce road accidents and enhance road safety. The comprehensive initiative aims to address the critical issue of driver-related accidents, which account for 78% of road incidents. These state-of-the-art centers will feature advanced simulators, automated tracks, and qualified instructors. Successful trainees will be exempted from additional driving tests for commercial licenses, streamlining the certification process while ensuring high-quality driver education.
