Gross GST Revenue Soars to ₹1.96 Trillion in January, Marking 12.3% Year-on-Year Growth

India's Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections reached approximately ₹1.96 trillion in January 2025, reflecting a robust 12.3% increase compared to the same month last year. This surge is attributed to heightened domestic economic activity, with revenues from goods and services sales rising by 10.4% and tax revenue from imports soaring by 19.8%. The government's continued focus on efficient refund processing, which saw a 24% increase in refunds issued, underscores a commitment to enhancing the ease of doing business. This positive trend signals potential economic growth ahead.
