Haryana Allocates Emergency Funds Amid Indo-Pak Tensions

The Haryana government has sanctioned Rs 1.10 crore to deputy commissioners across the state to address emergent situations arising from the ongoing conflict between India and Pakistan. The allocation, announced on May 9, provides Rs 5 lakh to each deputy commissioner, ensuring swift response measures at the district level.  

The funds are designated for emergency preparedness, including maintaining essential supplies, reinforcing security protocols, and ensuring operational readiness of control rooms. Additional Chief Secretary Sumita Misra emphasized strict financial discipline, directing officials to use the funds exclusively for crisis management.  

Deputy commissioners have been instructed to submit monthly expenditure statements to the Accounts Branch, ensuring transparency and accountability. The government has also issued warnings against hoarding essential goods, aiming to prevent panic buying and maintain stability in local markets.  

District-level control rooms have been placed on high alert, operating round-the-clock to monitor developments and coordinate emergency responses. Authorities are also ensuring that air warning systems and medical facilities remain fully functional to address any unforeseen situations.
