Haryana Announces Monetary Incentives for Mewat Students Scoring 90% in Classes 10 and 12

The Haryana government has introduced a financial incentive program to reward meritorious students in the Mewat region who achieve 90% or higher in their Class 10 and 12 board exams. The initiative, announced by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, aims to improve educational standards and encourage academic excellence in the region.  

Key highlights  

- General and other category students scoring above 90% in Class 10 and 12 will receive an incentive of ₹51,000 each.  
- Scheduled Caste (SC) students achieving the same marks will be awarded ₹1,11,000 under the Mukhyamantri Mewat Chhatar Pratibha Samman Yojana.  
- The program is part of a broader effort to enhance education, skill development, and infrastructure in Mewat.  

Additional financial support for higher education  

- Students from Mewat enrolling in professional, technical, tourism, paramedical, and PhD courses will receive ₹75,000 per year or 75% of the tuition fee, whichever is lower.  
- MBBS students will be eligible for ₹1.25 lakh per year or the actual tuition fee, whichever is lower. If the tuition fee at a government institute is below ₹1.25 lakh, the full amount will be covered.  
- A 17% reservation has been allocated for candidates from Hathin under the Mewat Development Board.  
- Female students will receive 50% scholarships across all categories.  

Scholarships and competitive exam assistance  

- To prevent dropouts, scholarships will be provided to students enrolling in Class 11 and 12 under the Chief Minister Mewat Post Matric Scholarship Scheme.  
- Financial assistance will be available for students preparing for competitive exams under the Mukhyamantri Mewat Utthan Yojana.  

Infrastructure development in Mewat  

- A museum honoring Shaheed Hasan Khan Mewati will be established in the region.  
- The government has approved the construction of a sports complex at Nuh district headquarters at an estimated cost of ₹13.50 crore.  
- Plans include building an auditorium in Nuh and setting up a Hunar Haat in Tauru block to support women volunteers from self-help groups.
