Haryana Power Regulator Revises Tariff, Increases Electricity Rates Across Categories

The Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission (HERC) has announced a new tariff structure for the financial year 2025-26, introducing revised electricity rates for domestic and industrial consumers. The updated rates reflect an increase of 20 to 30 paise per kilowatt-hour (kWh) or kilovolt-ampere-hour (kVAh) compared to the previous year.  

For domestic consumers, the revised rates include a hike from ₹2 per kWh to ₹2.20 per kWh for the 0-50 units slab, and from ₹2.50 per kWh to ₹2.70 per kWh for the 51-100 units slab. Consumers using 151-300 units will now pay ₹5.25 per kWh, while those consuming 301-500 units will pay ₹6.45 per kWh. For consumption exceeding 500 units, the rate has been set at ₹7.10 per kWh.  

Industrial consumers have also seen an increase, with rates for supply at 11 kVAh revised from ₹6.65 per kVAh to ₹6.95 per kVAh. Fixed charges in this category have been raised from ₹165 per kVA per month to ₹290 per kVA per month.  

The new tariff structure eliminates Minimum Monthly Charges (MMC) for domestic consumers with monthly energy consumption up to 300 units, offering relief to households. Additionally, a new category has been introduced for consumers with a load of more than 5 kilowatts, with rates ranging from ₹6.50 per kWh to ₹7.50 per kWh based on consumption levels.
