Historic Shift: Vikas Kaushal Becomes First Private Sector Leader to Helm HPCL!

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved Vikas Kaushal as the Chairman and Managing Director of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) for five years. Kaushal, a seasoned leader with over three decades of experience in the energy sector, is the first private-sector executive to lead a PSU in India's oil and gas industry. He succeeds Rajneesh Narang, who was interim CMD since September 2024. Kaushal brings extensive experience from Kearney and has advised major energy companies like IOC and BPCL.
