HUL's Strategic Split: Kwality Wall's to Become Independent Listed Entity

Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) has incorporated Kwality Wall's (India) Limited (KWIL) as a wholly-owned subsidiary, marking a significant step in its ice cream business demerger plan. The new entity, with an authorized capital of Rs 250 crore, will house popular brands like Kwality Wall's, Cornetto, and Magnum. This strategic move follows HUL's November 2024 decision to separate its ice cream division, which contributes 3% to total revenue. The demerger aims to unlock growth potential through focused investments in specialized cold chain infrastructure. Existing HUL shareholders will receive proportionate shares in the new listed entity.
