Hyundai Motor India has told dealers and customers to brace for a fresh round of price hikes, with sticker prices set to rise by up to 12,800 rupees from 1 June 2026. The company says the move has been forced by rising input costs and higher commodity prices, and the exact increase will depend on the model and variant.

For potential buyers sitting on the fence, this effectively creates a narrow window to lock in current prices before the hike kicks in. For existing owners, it quietly nudges up notional resale values, even as affordability for new buyers takes a mild knock.

Why Hyundai Is Raising Prices

Hyundai has pointed to sustained pressure from input costs and commodity prices as the key triggers for this round of increases. Steel, plastics, electronics and logistics have all seen cost shifts over recent quarters, and carmakers have limited room left to absorb them purely through internal efficiencies. A calibrated pass through to customers was always on the cards, and this notification makes it official.

How Much Prices Will Move

The company has capped the hike at a maximum of 12,800 rupees, but the actual increase will vary across its line up and specific variants. Entry level trims may see smaller bumps, while higher spec versions with more components exposed to commodity prices could move closer to the top end of that band. Either way, the new ex showroom prices across Hyundai’s portfolio will apply from 1 June 2026.

What It Means For Car Buyers Now

For buyers with bookings in hand or those negotiating purchases this week, the timing becomes crucial. Depending on dealer policies and invoicing dates, some customers may still be able to secure vehicles at pre hike prices if billing is completed before the effective date. Others will have to factor the higher on road cost into loan and EMI calculations, especially in the already sensitive entry and mid segment markets.
