India and Indonesia Strengthen Ties: Trade, Defense, and Education at Forefront

Meetings were held on the Indian visit of the President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, on strengthening cooperation in trade, defense manufacturing, and education. The bilateral trade, which is about USD 30 billion, offers potential avenues for India to increase its exports, especially in the pharmaceutical and automobiles sectors. India and Indonesia agreed to cooperate with regard to defense supply chains and maritime security. The educational institutions of India are also considering establishing campuses in Indonesia. This would further strengthen ties between the two countries. It is a crucial moment in the relationship between India and Indonesia.
