India And Japan Hold First AI Strategic Dialogue In Mumbai To Shape Future Tech

The inaugural India–Japan AI Strategic Dialogue in Mumbai marked a milestone in technological diplomacy. Both nations reaffirmed their commitment to co-create a trustworthy AI ecosystem, aligning with the India–Japan AI Cooperation Initiative announced by Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and Fumio Kishida in 2025.

Significance Of The Dialogue

This dialogue positions AI as a central pillar of India–Japan relations for the next decade. India brings its digital public infrastructure and talent pool, while Japan contributes advanced industrial expertise and hardware precision. Together, they aim to set standards for responsible AI adoption in Asia.

Networking With Industry

On April 22, a networking session in Bengaluru connected AI-related private companies from both countries, including Fujitsu Research India, EdgeCortix, Tier IV, and Aeterlink, highlighting industry collaboration alongside government efforts.
