India Sets Its Sights on Glory: PM Modi Champions Bid for 2036 Olympics

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reaffirmed India's aspiration to secure the hosting rights for the 2036 Olympics, saying that this will be an elevating experience for the country's sports scenario. At the inauguration of the 38th National Games in Uttarakhand, he emphasized that the bid is a transformative opportunity for India, enhancing infrastructure and boosting tourism. India has filed its Letter of Intent with the IOC, and there will be competition for hosting rights from Turkey and Chile, among others. The IOC would take a call on the host rights in 2026. This is India's watershed moment for its sporting ambitions.
