India-UK Trade Talks Resume: Ministers Vow Robust Bilateral Relations

India and Britain have formally reinitiated negotiations on their potential free trade deal (FTA) after a lapse of eight months. UK Business and Trade Secretary Jonathan Reynolds travelled to New Delhi for two intense days of one-on-one meetings with Indian Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal. Both the ministers reaffirmed their commitment towards robust bilateral trading relations and driving the FTA negotiations forward. Reynolds was keen to underscore the UK's ambition to raise the trading partnership with India to the next level, seeing the trade agreement as central to the commitment. The talks are geared towards establishing a new, balanced, and symmetric economic partnership that is modern in nature, and growth is at the center of the negotiations.
