India Unveils $3.5 Billion Vision to Become Zero-Waste Fashion Hub by 2030

At Bharat Tex 2025, Hon'ble Minister of Textiles Sanjay Savkare unveiled a groundbreaking report outlining India's $3.5 billion vision to become a zero-waste fashion hub by 2030. The initiative, launched on February 15, 2025, aims to revolutionize the textile industry through sustainable practices and circular economy models. Key strategies include implementing eco-friendly innovations, developing closed-loop manufacturing processes, and fostering upcycling initiatives. This aligns with the International Day of Zero Waste 2025 theme, "Towards zero waste in fashion and textiles." The plan emphasizes India's potential to lead in low-carbon textile production, leveraging its abundant textile waste and innovative industry leaders to create economic opportunities while addressing environmental concerns.
