India Unveils Massive Rs 400 Billion Water and Sewerage Infrastructure Overhaul

In a landmark move to address India's growing water and sanitation needs, the government has launched a comprehensive Rs 400 billion ($4.8 billion) initiative for water supply and sewerage projects across the country. This ambitious plan aims to expand water treatment capacity by 4,649 million liters per day and sewage treatment capacity by 4,429 million liters daily. The project, part of the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0, will cover 500 cities, significantly improving urban water infrastructure. Additionally, the initiative includes the development of 2,439 parks, adding 5,070 acres of green space to urban areas. This massive investment underscores India's commitment to sustainable urban development and improved quality of life for millions of citizens.
