India, US Move Closer On Trade Pact As Delhi Sets Sights On 1 Trillion Dollar Exports
India’s trade minister has signalled that New Delhi and Washington are in the final stretch of talks on a new bilateral trade understanding, with large parts of the agreement already wrapped up and only a few details left to iron out. The two sides will sit down for formal trade discussions from June 2 to 4, with an eye on concluding the first tranche of the pact. Alongside, India has set an ambitious target of reaching 1 trillion dollars in total exports in the current fiscal year.
