Indian Students Abroad: A Growing Crisis of Safety and Security

The surge in Indian students studying abroad has raised significant safety concerns, with at least 633 reported deaths over the past five years across 41 countries. Canada recorded the highest fatalities, with three tragic incidents occurring in December alone, including stabbings and accidents. In light of these alarming statistics, the Indian government has issued safety advisories urging students to exercise caution. Experts emphasize the need for host countries to enhance security measures and community awareness to protect these young scholars. The rising violence against students highlights an urgent call for action to ensure their safety abroad.
