Indian Youth Congress Launches Nationwide ‘Cockroaches’ Movement Highlighting Paper Leaks And Joblessness

The IYC’s campaign was inspired by the satirical Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which emerged after Chief Justice of India Surya Kant compared fake-degree holders to “cockroaches.” The youth wing of the Congress has embraced the insult, declaring that if demanding jobs and accountability makes India’s youth “cockroaches,” they proudly accept it.

Campaign Expansion

IYC leaders, including in-charge Manish Sharma and president Uday Bhanu Chib, announced that the movement is not limited to social media but will continue through street protests, campus mobilisations, and AI-driven campaigns. The organisation accused the Centre of choosing “arrogance over accountability” while youth face unemployment and repeated exam paper leaks.

Ground-Level Protests

The campaign has already seen demonstrations against the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak, with IYC workers staging protests in Delhi and other cities. Despite FIRs, arrests, and intimidation, the organisation insists its members are “the real cockroaches of resistance,” refusing to stay silent while their future is at stake.

Digital Strategy

IYC has launched AI-driven social media campaigns and a dedicated digital platform inviting youth to register. National Secretary Manu Jain described the campaign as representing “the anger, frustration, and resistance of an entire generation.”

Political Demands

As part of the campaign, IYC has launched the “Sack Pradhan” petition, demanding accountability and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over repeated exam paper leaks.
