India's Bold Leap: National Critical Mineral Mission Launched to Secure Future in Green Energy and Technology

The Indian government has officially launched the National Critical Mineral Mission (NCMM), with an investment of ₹16,300 crore aimed at promoting the exploration and sustainable management of critical minerals. This initiative, approved by the Union Cabinet, seeks to reduce reliance on imports and enhance self-sufficiency in essential minerals like lithium and cobalt. The mission will cover all stages of the value chain, from exploration to recovery, and is expected to attract an additional ₹18,000 crore from public sector enterprises. This strategic move aligns with India's goals for energy security and technological advancement.
