India's Craft and Furniture Sector: The Next Big Export Story

Indian governments are actively helping the furniture industry and crafts businesses to increase global market share. India is not only the world's fifth-largest furniture-producing nation but also one with great prospects for growth. The government of India considers the furniture industry as a sunrise sector, promoting scale production and new technology. Support programs such as the Export Promotion Mission and Make in India attempt to increase the export competitiveness level and offer subsidies to manufacturers. Besides, exhibitions such as INDIAWOOD 2025 will also demonstrate India's woodworking and furniture production capabilities, increasing the industry's global presence further.
