India's Defense Ambitions Soar: GE-414 Engine Deal Negotiations Set to Conclude by March!

The Indian team is set to visit the United States for critical discussions regarding the GE-414 engine deal, aiming for a resolution by March 2025. This deal is pivotal for India's indigenous defense capabilities, specifically enhancing the Tejas MkII aircraft program. However, negotiations have faced challenges, including a significant price increase from $1 billion to approximately $1.5 billion due to demands for enhanced technology transfer. Despite these hurdles, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) remains optimistic about finalizing the agreement soon.
