India's Sugar Exports to Continue Despite Reduced Stock

India's sugar industry remains resilient as officials confirm ongoing export participation despite a decline in stocks. Starting 2025 with 8 million tonnes, India expects to close the year with 6 million tonnes of sugar stock. The government recently permitted exports of 1 million tonnes for the 2024-25 season, aiming to support domestic prices and aid sugar mills. This move comes as India's sugar production is projected to dip by 12% in the 2025 season, with output falling to 16.5 million tonnes as of January 31, 2025.
