Industry Leaders Applaud West Bengal’s ‘Progressive’ Budget for 2025-26

Leading industry bodies have welcomed West Bengal’s budget for 2025-26, praising its focus on MSMEs, infrastructure development, climate resilience, and social welfare. The Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry highlighted the state’s 7.3% industrial growth, surpassing the national average of 6.2%. A Rs 1,229 crore allocation for MSMEs is expected to boost small businesses. The Indian Chamber of Commerce lauded the budget’s emphasis on infrastructure creation, climate adaptation, and social empowerment. A 4% DA hike for state government employees is anticipated to increase purchasing power, while a Rs 500 crore allocation for the Gangasagar bridge aims to transform the pilgrimage site into a major tourism hub.
