Infosys Trainee Layoffs Leave Hundreds in Limbo

Infosys has fired over 400 trainees at its Mysuru campus for failing internal tests. The move triggered outrage among several trainees, who were onboarded after a wait period of 2.5 years. Many such trainees reported being asked to vacate the premises by 6 PM on February 7. Reports said the process was very harsh, bouncers were deployed, and confidentiality was forced. The Nascent IT Employees Senate (NITES) filed a labor complaint citing unethical practices. Infosys sticks to three attempts as its policy but faces widespread criticism for toughening tests without any support in place for employees who get impacted.
