Inland Waterways Revolution: India's ₹50,000 Crore Boost to Transform Logistics

Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal unveiled a groundbreaking ₹50,000 crore plan to revolutionize India's inland waterways infrastructure over the next five years. The initiative aims to reduce logistics costs, promote eco-friendly transportation, and boost regional development across 21 states. Key features include the development of new waterways, launch of 1,000 green vessels, and implementation of advanced navigation systems. This ambitious project aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a 'Viksit Bharat' by enhancing connectivity and fostering economic growth through sustainable water transport solutions.
