Paytm has rolled out a major update allowing Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) to use UPI services seamlessly without requiring an Indian SIM card. By linking their international mobile numbers, NRIs can now access UPI through NRE or NRO accounts, simplifying payments and transfers across India.
Paytm’s latest move is a significant step in expanding India’s digital payments ecosystem globally. NRIs can now log in with their international mobile numbers, eliminating the hassle of maintaining an Indian SIM. This update enhances convenience for overseas Indians managing expenses, sending money to family, or shopping online in India.
How It Works
NRIs from select countries can log into the Paytm app using their international mobile number. Once verified, they can link their NRE or NRO bank accounts to access UPI services. This allows them to make payments at shops, restaurants, and online platforms in India by scanning QR codes or using UPI IDs.
