ISRO Hits Jackpot: Earns Rs 1,243 Crore From Foreign Satellite Launches Over Past Decade

India's space program has achieved remarkable financial success, with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) generating Rs 1,243 crore (approximately USD 143 million and 272 million Euros) in foreign exchange revenue through commercial satellite launches over the past decade. From January 2015 to December 2024, ISRO successfully deployed 393 foreign satellites and 3 Indian customer satellites using its PSLV, LVM3, and SSLV launch vehicles. The organization has launched satellites for 34 countries globally, with the United States leading at 232 satellites, followed by the United Kingdom with 83. This significant revenue stream accompanies ISRO's ambitious upcoming missions, including Gaganyaan human spaceflight and plans for establishing the Bharatiya Antariksha Station by 2035.
