Jio's Northeastern Push: How Tripura Could Become the Next IT Hub!

Reliance Jio has shown keen interest in investing in Tripura's Information Technology sector, which could mean a possible development of the state's digital infrastructure. Chief Minister Manik Saha received a Reliance Jio delegation headed by the North Eastern Zone Business Head to hold talks on investment possibilities. The firm is considering ventures in IT and IT-enabled services, data centers, natural gas exploration, fertilizer manufacturing, petroleum, production of ethanol from bamboo, rubber wood furniture, agro-food processing, and tourism.

 

The announcement comes after preliminary meetings between Mukesh Ambani and CM Saha, who had sought his support for Tripura's developmental vision. The state government last week inked 87 MoUs worth Rs 3,700 crore at a business meet, reflecting the government's effort to bring investments to the state. Reliance Jio's interest in areas like IT development is in congruence with Tripura's vision for economic development and IT growth, paving the way to change the destiny of the state.
