J&K's Gift to Ladakh: Rs 2504 Crore Worth of Financial Responsibilities

The Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, announced that Rs 2,504.46 crore worth of financial liabilities would be shifted to the Union Territory of Ladakh. This has come after Jammu and Kashmir were reorganized as two Union Territories in 2019. This is among the assets and liabilities apportionments. The issue has been referred to the Ministry of Home Affairs for further processing. All major recommendations on this reorganization have been made operational. The decision is an effort towards the completion of Ladakh's financial responsibilities as an independent unit.
