Patel explained that the coverage was part of a "disinformation campaign" detrimental to India and Prime Minister Modi's leadership. Patel opined that Washington establishment's narrative is based on perceived commonalities between Trump and Modi. Patel showed his Hindu roots in his Senate confirmation by touching his parents' feet and invoking the greeting "Jai Shri Krishna."
