Maha Kumbh Pilgrim Count Shatters Records, Surpasses 50 Crore

In a historic milestone, the Uttar Pradesh government announced today that over 50 crore devotees have taken a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam during the ongoing Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. This unprecedented turnout surpasses the combined population of the United States and Russia, marking it as the largest religious gathering in human history. Despite a tragic stampede on January 29, the 45-day event continues to draw millions daily. With 12 days remaining until its conclusion on February 26, officials expect the final count to exceed 55 crore. The state government has implemented extensive measures for crowd management and pilgrim safety across the 4000-hectare Mela area, including 44 ghats along the sacred rivers.
