Maharashtra's Gift to Women: Rs 17,505 Crore and Counting

The Maharashtra government paid out Rs 17,505.90 crore to 2.38 crore woman beneficiaries under the Ladki Bahin Scheme as of December 2024, as per the Economic Survey. The scheme gives a monthly grant of Rs 1,500 to the beneficiary women. Even in times of financial distress, the scheme has been a flagship welfare scheme. The government has also eliminated ineligible beneficiaries to ensure effective dispensation of funds. The scheme has played a key role in assisting economically backward women throughout the state.
