Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) is reportedly in advanced talks to acquire the entire promoter stake in SML Isuzu, a move that could significantly bolster M&M's presence in the commercial vehicle market. Sources suggest M&M is considering a valuation of ₹1,400-1,500 per share, representing a 11-17% discount to SML Isuzu's current trading price. The M&M board is expected to meet this week to evaluate the proposal. This acquisition would align with M&M's strategy to expand its footprint in the trucks and buses segment. SML Isuzu's shares jumped nearly 2% to ₹1,680.05 following the news, while M&M's stock experienced a slight dip.
