Market Tumble: Sensex Plunges 350 Points, Nifty Dips Below 22,850 Amid Global Uncertainty

Indian stock markets opened in the red on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, as global economic concerns weighed on investor sentiment. The BSE Sensex plummeted 345 points or 0.45% to 75,621.95, while the Nifty50 fell 114 points or 0.50% to 22,830.90. This marks the 10th negative close in 11 sessions for the indices. Factors contributing to the downturn include expanded trade conflicts, geopolitical uncertainties, and anticipation of the Federal Reserve's January meeting minutes. Sectors such as IT, metals, and pharma faced significant pressure, with Dr Reddy's, Adani Enterprises, and Sun Pharma among the top losers. Analysts suggest a "sell on rise" strategy for Nifty in the short term, with support at 22,800.
