Matchmaking for Mergers: ICAI’s New Portal Aims to Unite CA Firms

In a bold move to reshape India’s accounting landscape, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is developing a digital networking platform that’s being dubbed the Shaadi.com for CA firms. But this isn’t about romantic unions—it’s about strategic mergers, alliances, and resource pooling among over 96,000 chartered accountancy firms across the country.

Key highlights of the initiative

- The portal is designed to help small and mid-sized CA firms collaborate, merge, and expand their service offerings  
- ICAI President Charanjot Singh Nanda emphasized that the platform aligns with the government’s vision to create large, homegrown firms capable of competing with global giants like Deloitte, EY, KPMG, and PwC  
- The platform will serve as a matchmaking hub, connecting firms from Tier-II and Tier-III cities with larger players
